Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Septimius Severus right vis-à-vis bare-headed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Clodius Albinus left / Eagle standing facing on wreath, head left, with wings displayed, holding palm in beak. Mouchmov 4149; SNG Copenhagen -; Varbanov 3172; cf. CNG 42, lot 989 (same rev. die). Good VF, heavy blue-black patina with traces of orange in crevices. Extremely rare. ($1500)
