Justinian standing facing, holding long cross and akakia / Large M; monogram above, E below, no stars in fields, SCL in exergue. DOC II 59 var. (stars flanking M); Spahr 219; BBS 49/1; MIB III 49 var. (same); SB 1299 var. (same). Good VF, dark green patina. Overstruck on type SB 1297. ($150)
The poorly preserved Spahr 219 may also be lacking the reverse field stars. All other references besides MIB place this issue in the first reign; Hahn has it consecutive with the similarly dated MIB 48 in the second reign.
