GREEK. Gold bracelet. 1st century BC. An ornate gold and gemstone bracelet, diameter 60mm, width 18mm, total weight 33.66 grams. The hinged bracelet with applied decoration on a plain band background. Overall granulated decoration, with additional ornamentation composed of re-used jewelry components. The hollow gold globules are gold beads, halved and attached to the band. The gems are garnet, carnelian and a few glass beads, also split and inset into simple frames, with a lozenge-shaped central jewel over the sliding clasp of the catch. Cf. Hoffman & Davidson,
