[Antiquities] BYZANTINE. Gold finger ring. 5th-6th century AD. Inner diameter 18mm, total weight 8.88 gm. Gold open-work band comprising three wires, forming a frame for double spiral in-fills and added globules. Heavy bezel with inset nicolo (black and white bi-color agate) gemstone, the flat table polished and ready for engraving. A few minor bumps, otherwise in choice condition. Very attractive late Classic gold ring. ($1000)
