CILICIA, Tarsos. Datames, Satrap of Cilicia and Cappadocia. 384-362 BC. AR Stater (22mm, 10.11 g). 'BLTRZ' in Aramaic left, Baaltars seated right, torso facing; holding grain ear and grape-bunch in left hand, eagle-tipped sceptre in right arm; mouse below throne, thymiaterion to right; all within crenelated wall / 'TRDMW' in Aramaic in the center, Ana, nude, facing Datames; both have their right arms raised; between them, thymiaterion; all within square square border within linear border. SNG Levante 83 var. (no mouse); SNG France 291 var. (same); SNG von Aulock 5943 var. (same); Jameson 1615 var. (inscription for Ana). Good VF, light cleaning scratches. Very rare and this variety unpublished.
