Boiotian shield, club across upper half / Bearded head of Dionysos right, wearing ivy wreath; Q-E downward on left; all within square incuse. Myron Hoard pl. A, 35; Hess-Leu 24 March 1959, lot 200 (same rev. die). EF, evenly toned, gold and blue iridescence around the obverse devices. Beautifully centered on a large flan. Exceptionally artistic rendering of the head of Dionysos. ($5000)
