Ex Hess-Leu 24 March 1959, lot 203.

A more charming and less traditional version of the previous Dionysos. There is an air of wild abandon about him, and even the ivy leaves around his head are flying about. A vibrantly expressive portrait epitomizing late classical art at its best.
