[Ancient] INDIA, Kushans. Kanishka I. Circa 127/8-152 AD. AV Dinar (7.98 g, 12h). Mint II (B). PAONANOPAO KA- NHPKI KOPANO, Kanishka standing facing, head left, holding goad over altar in right hand, standard in left; flame at right shoulder, annulet on cheek / OHPO, Siva, nimbate, standing facing, head left, pouring water from flask in extended lower right hand, holding vajra (thunderbolt) in raised upper right hand, holding trident in raised upper left hand, and holding a he-goat at hip in lower left hand; tamgha to left. MK 78/1 (O40/R45; same dies); Donum Burns 140 (same dies); cf. MACW 3063. EF. Extremely rare variety; only the third example of this reverse die known, and the only one not in a public collection. Göbl records only two other examples with this reverse die: one in Calcutta (MK 78/1) and the other in Bern (Donum Burns 140).
