RUSSIA. Alexei Mikhailovich. 1645-1676. AR Yefimok (Jefimok) (26.63 g, 2h). Dated 1655. A leewendaalder of Overijssel, dated 1644, countermarked on obverse with two punches: horseman right with monogram below in dotted circle (Type II) and date in plain rectangle (Type IV). Coin: Delmonte 856; KM 12; Countermarks: cf. Efimki 247-249 (unlisted date); Kaim I p. 126-129; cf. KM 426 (rijksdaalder). Coin VF, c/ms good VF, toned. Sharp horseman punch. ($600)

Ex Willy Fuchs Collection (Sotheby's, 24-25 April 1997), lot 16.

This appears to be an unlisted date punch, similar to Type II, but the rectangle is only about 10.5x6mm and the date is correspondingly slightly smaller (designated Type IV).
