MACEDON, Akanthos. Circa 470-430 BC. AR Tetradrachm (17.12 g, 6h). Attic standard. Lion, right, attacking bull kneeling to left, biting into his hindquarter;
DI above, branch in exergue / Ethnic around quadripartite square, the quarters raised and granulated; all within incuse square. Cf. Desneux 104-106 (unlisted dies); AMNG III 23; SNG ANS -. Near EF, toned. Good metal for issue.
