KINGS of MACEDON. Demetrios I Poliorketes. 306-283 BC. AR Tetradrachm (17.26 g, 9h). Salamis mint. Struck circa 300-295 BC. Nike on prow of galley left, blowing trumpet / Poseidon Pelagaios throwing trident left; monogram to left, labrys to right. Newell 66 corr. (dies LVII/104). Good VF. Well centered and struck.
The Copenhagen specimen was Newell’s sole example for his issue 66, and was so poorly preserved that the control marks were misread.
