CILICIA, Mallos. Circa 425-385 BC. AR Tritartemorion (0.23 g, 10h). Facing head of Silenos / MA, Cock (or swan?) standing right within pelleted border in incuse square. SNG France -; cf. SNG Levante 145. VF, minor porosity. Apparently unpublished.
A swan is the typical bird on the reverse of the early series at Mallos. The obverse on our specimen is nearly identical to the Levante coin, as is the pelleted border on the reverse and the overall style. It is possible, therefore, that the swan was incorrectly engraved on our piece.
