Hadrian. AD 117-138. AR Cistophorus (10.43 g, 6h). Ephesus mint. Struck after AD 128. HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P, bare head right / DIANA EPHESIA, temple of Diana (Artemis) Ephesia. Cf. Metcalf, Cistophori, type 9 (for obv. & rev. type) and type 5-8 (for rev. legend). VF, slight die shift. Overstruck on an uncertain cistophorus of Mark Antony and Octavia (cf. RSC 2-3). Unpublished reverse legend-type combination.

This unpublished coin is apparently a transitional issue combining the earlier reverse legend with the later reverse type.
