Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ Sestertius (16.79 g, 6h). Rome mint, 1st officina. 8-11th emission, late AD 240-early AD 243. IMP GORDIANVS FELIX AVG, laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Sol standing front, head left, raising right hand and holding globe. RIC IV 297a note; Banti 21 (this coin illustrated). Good VF, heavy, rough green patina with red undertones. Extremely rare issue with FELIX rather than the ususal FEL.
