Nicephorus II, Phocas. 963-969. AV Histamenon Nomisma (4.44 g, 6h). Constantinople mint. Facing bust of Christ, raising hand in benediction and holding Gospels; nimbus with •• in cross arms / Bust of the Theotokos and crowned bust of Nicephorus II, wearing short beard and loros, facing, holding patriarchal cross, with • on shaft, between them; crown topped with cross and with pendilia. Cf. DOC III 4.7; SB 1778. Good VF, struck with slightly rusty dies, a few marks.
