Basil II, Bulgaroktonos, with Constantine VIII. 976-1025. AV Histamenon Nomisma (4.43 g, 6h). Constantinople mint. Struck circa AD 977-989. Facing bust of Christ, raising hand in benediction and holding Gospels; nimbus with •• in vertical cross arm / Crowned facing busts of Basil, wearing short beard and loros, and Constantine, beardless and draped, each wearing crown topped with cross, holding patriarchal cross between them. Cf. DOC III 2a-d; SB 1796. Good VF, obverse struck with worn, slightly rusty die.
