Basil II, Bulgaroktonos, with Constantine VIII. 976-1025. AV Histamenon Nomisma (4.37 g, 6h). Constantinople mint. Struck circa 1005. Facing bust of Christ, raising hand in benediction and holding Gospels; nimbus with rosette of seven pellets in cross arms / Crowned facing busts of Basil, wearing short beard and loros, and Constantine, beardless and draped, each wearing crown topped with cross, holding patriarchal cross between them; diadem with ••• above Basil. DOC III 5 (same dies); SB 1799. Good VF, obverse struck with slightly rusty, worn die, minor flan flaws.
