Manuel I Comnenus. 1143-1180. AV Hyperpyron (3.96 g, 6h). Constantinople mint. Struck circa 1143-1152. Facing bust of Christ, beardless, raising hand in benediction and holding scroll; nimbus with double-lined cross arms, five pellets in cross arms / Manuel standing facing, being crowned by manus Dei, holding labarum and patriarchal cross on globe; six jewels on collar; rayed quadrate jewel on chlamys below tablion. DOC IV 1a.3; SB 1956. Good VF, reverse field scratch, slightly wavy flan.
