Manuel I Comnenus. 1143-1180. AV Hyperpyron (4.27 g, 6h). Constantinople mint. Struck circa 1164-1167. Facing bust of Christ, beardless, raising hand in benediction and holding scroll; nimbus with double-lined cross arms, five pellets in cross arms / Manuel standing facing, being crowned by manus Dei, holding labarum with two pellets on shaft and patriarchal cross on globe; three jewels on collar; • on chlamys below tablion. Cf. DOC IV 1d.1; SB 1956. Good VF, slight shift strike on obverse.
