Manuel I Comnenus. 1143-1180. AV Hyperpyron (4.32 g, 6h). Constantinople mint. Struck circa 1167-1183. Facing bust of Christ, beardless, raising hand in benediction and holding scroll; nimbus with double-lined cross arms, five pellets in cross arms / Manuel standing facing, being crowned by manus Dei, holding labarum with two pellets on shaft and patriarchal cross on globe; nine jewels on collar; • on chlamys below tablion. DOC IV 1e.5; SB 1956. Good VF, a little wavy, lightly toned.
