Andronicus II, Palaeologus. 1282-1328. AV Hyperpyron (4.08 g, 6h). Constantinople mint. Struck 1282-1295. Half-length facing bust of the Theotokos,
orans, surronded by city walls composed of six towers; (triple pellets)/CN-C/N on either side / Andronicus kneeling right, being blessed by Christ standing facing; at feet between, four pellets, [lis in right field]. Cf. DOC V 224-225 (cf. Bendall sigla 75); SB 2326. Good VF, usual poor strike.
