OSTROGOTHS. Uncertain king. AD 526-540. AV Solidus (4.30 g, 6h). Ravenna(?) mint. Struck in the name of Justinian I, circa AD 530-539. Pearl-diademed, helmeted, and cuirassed bust facing slightly right, holding spear over shoulder and shield; helmet with three pellets, diadem ribbons “flying” to left / Victory standing left, holding long cross, star in left field; P//COMOB. Cf. COI 36 (Athalaric, Theodahad, and Witigis); cf. MIB 1, 28 (Athalaric/ Theodohat) and 31 (Witigis); cf. Demo 196 (Theodahad; Rome); MEC 1, -. Good VF, obverse field scratch. Apparently unique.
