[Seals] BYZANTINE. Syriac lead seal. Circa 6th century AD. Diameter 23mm, weight 6.62 g. Nimbate facing bust of Mary, holding Christ; MHT QV at sides / Three line inscription in Syriac (Estrangelo), possibly transliterated as lrt... / plywtnn / ylhtna. The second line may be intended as “Filistin”-Palestine. Fine condition, cream colored patina, a few nicks. A rare artifact of the eastern Christian church.
