[Jewelry and Ornaments] ROMAN. Bone hair pin. Circa 1st-2nd century AD. Height 13cm. A woman’s bone hair pin with finial of a three-dimensional bust of Pallas Athena, wearing a tall triple-crested helmet, the bust set on a pedestal. Choice condition, just the tip of the helmet crest missing, nice mellow patina to the bone. Rare to find an ancient bone implement this ornate and in this state of preservation.
