ROMAN. North Africa. Pottery oil lamp. Circa 1st century AD. Length 11cm. Mold-formed with central motif of Eros guiding a quadriga of hippocamps, meander frame. Fill hole on discus, tiny vent hole on edge, ring handle. Pinkish-red colored clay with red slip. Choice condition, sharp details under a thin layer of calcium deposits.
