[Pottery] ITALY, Apulia. Red-figure pottery Lekythos. Circa 4th century BC. Height 8.5cm. Ovoid body, strap handle. Black slip over red clay, decorated with band of a seated female sphinx and a plant, both set on decorated basis. Constricted neck with bell-shaped mouth. Choice condition, just slight wear to the slip.
