ROMAN. Bronze antefix of a legionary eagle. Circa 1st-2nd century AD. Length 50mm. A three-dimensional model of a legionary eagle, with wings displayed, perched upon a wreath (mostly broken away). Deeply incised details of feathers and claws. The stub of a support peg on the back. Good condition, rough green and brown patina, broken through in spots.
