[Bronze objects] ROMAN. Lead dedicatory plaque. Circa 2nd-3rd century AD. 9cm x 7.5cm. A very ornate Thracian lead plaque featuring diverse religious symbols. In central panel, framed by Corinthian columns with arcade above, are two horsemen (the Dioscouri), flanking a priest standing before a tripod with an animal offering placed upon it. Above the horsemen are bust of Luna and Sol with, below them are a cock, crayfish(?), turtle(?) and a prostrate man. In the space above the arcade are two Victories with wreaths and palms flanking a central eagle on globe. Several uncertain representations in lower register, those recognizable include a bull, amphora, incense burners and a cock. Interesting syncretistic religious object. Brown patina, a few breaks in the lead.
