THESSALY, Ekkarra. Circa 325-320 BC. Æ 14mm (1.93 g, 5h). Laureate head of Zeus left / Artemis standing left, holding spear, quiver over shoulder. Liampi,
Ekkarra 51 (V16/R26); SNG Copenhagen 47. Good VF, dark green patina, obverse struck a little weakly. Very rare.
Although Liampi recorded a substantial number of these in her die study, coins of Ekkarra are very rare in the marketplace. This is the first that CNG has offered at auction.
