GALATIA, Ancyra. Caracalla. AD 198-217. Æ 29mm (14.53 g, 1h). Laureate and cuirassed bust left / Octastyle temple facing slightly right, viewed in perspective. Arslan, Ancyra -; cf. SNG France 2481 (for rev.); cf. SNG von Aulock 6175-6176 (for obv.; same obv. die). VF, dark brown surfaces. Unpublished type.

Head suggested that the temple is that of Rome and Augustus, site of the so-called Monumentum Ancyranum, the most complete extant example of the Res Gestae Divi Augusti.
