Septimius Severus. AD 193-211. AR Denarius (3.69 g, 7h). Laodicea mint. Struck AD 196-197. Laureate and cuirassed bust right; aegis on breastplate / Pax seated left, holding branch and scepter. RIC IV 490a var. (bust type); RSC 444 var. (same). Good VF, gray and gold toning with a hint of iridescence. Very rare bust type.
