James enthroned facing, holding orb and scepter; portcullis at feet, rose and lis pattern in fields; mm: thistle (engraved over spur rowel) / Coat-of-arms over cross fleurée; XXX above, mm: thistle (engraved over spur rowel). Cf. Schneider 77 (same dies with original spur rowel mintmark); North 2108; SCBC 2632. Good VF, lightly toned.
