CARIA, Kranaos. Circa 300-280 BC. Æ 11mm (1.29 g). Three-quarter facing head of Helios, radiate, head turned slightly right / KPAN, grape cluster; crayfish to left. Walker, "A New Mint in Caria", SM 112 (November 1978), pp. 86-88. Good VF, black patina with some central striking weakness. Rare.

Formerly attributed to the island of Kranae, off the coast of Laconia. Walker cites four examples found in Caria and the island of Rhodes, prompting the new identification
