Bayana Hoard 258 (pl. XVIII, 3). VF.
Chandragupta’s Archer type usually shows the king standing wearing a long tailed coat decorated with buttons, and leggings. Only a very small percentage show him clad only in the traditional dhoti, a cloth wrapped around the waist and draped over the lower body. Altekar in his study of the Bayana Hoard is not always clear on the variety, and Chhabra illustrates only one example among the specimens held by the National Museum.
