CALABRIA, Tarentum. Circa 344-340 BC. AR Nomos (8.03 g, 12h). Nude warrior, wearing helmet, on horseback left, holding shield on left arm; D below / TARAS, Phalanthos riding dolphin left, holding kantharos in extended right hand, left hand on dolphin; below, E above dolphin left above waves. Fischer-Bossert group 46, 647a (V251/R499; this coin); Vlasto 387 (same dies); HN Italy 870; SNG ANS 904 (same dies); SNG France 1748 (same dies). Good VF, toned, small flan flaw on obverse, slight die wear.
