SICILY, Akragas. Circa 460-450/46 BC. AR Tetradrachm (17.35 g, 6h). AKRAC-ANTOS (N retrograde), sea eagle standing left on top of Ionic column / Crab within shallow incuse circle; floral design below. Lee Group II; SNG ANS 982 (same dies); SNG Lloyd 807-8 var. (form of ethnic); Basel 254 var. (same); Rizzo pl. I, 6 (same dies). Superb EF, a hint of porosity in field on obverse. Well struck on excellent metal.
