ATTICA, Athens. Circa 250-230 BC. AR Tetradrachm (17.16 g, 8h). Head of Athena right, with profile eye, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with three “olive leaves” over visor and a spiral palmette of unusual shape on the bowl / AQE, owl standing right, head facing, feet hanging as if suspended; olive sprig and crescent behind; all within incuse square. Kroll 30 = Nicolet-Pierre & Kroll pl. 6, F23; Svoronos, Monnaies, pl. 23, 5; Dewing -; SNG Copenhagen -. EF, lightly toned. Struck on an exceptionally broad flan for period.
