S : GEORGIUS • EQVITUM • PATRONUS, St. George, helmeted and armored, riding horse right, stabbing a dragon below with his lance / IN • TEMPESTATE • SECURITAS •, Christ and the Apostles piloting a sailboat in heavy seas, wind from the clouds blowing right; group of ships in background. This beautiful medal was designed by Carl Wilhelm Becker (1772-1830), later dubbed “Becker the Counterfeiter” for his famous reproductions of ancient coins.
