THRACE, Pautalia. Caracalla. AD 198-217. Æ Triassarion (31mm, 18.32 g, 6h). Struck AD 205-209. Laureate and draped bust left, seen from the front, holding spear and shield decorated with gorgoneion / River-god Strymon reclining left, holding patera and reed, resting elbow on urn from which water flows. Tachev Pautalia 269 (O74/R240); Ruzicka –; Varbanov 5180. Dark green patina, light roughness. Good Fine. Very rare.
