D N ANASTAS IVS PЄRP AVG, helmeted and cuirassed bust facing slightly right, holding spear over shoulder and shield decorated with horseman motif on left shoulder / VICTORI A AVGGG, Victory standing left, holding long jeweled cross; star to right; Γ//CONOB. DOC 3c var. (obv. legend); MIBE 3a; SB 3. Toned, lightly clipped, light scratch on reverse. Good VF. The early solidi of Anastasius I with the obverse legend as PЄRP are far rarer than their later counterparts with the more abbreviated P or PP. Two examples of the 3rd officina are cited in MIBE.
