Contorniates. Late 4th century AD. Æ Contorniate (36.5mm, 25.30 g, 6h). In the name of Nero. NERO CLAVDIVS CAE AVG, laureate head right / Achilles, helmeted and holding spear, catching Penthesilea as she falls from her horse. Cf. Alföldi, Kontorniat 77 and pl. 73, 12 (for type). Dark brown patina. Near VF.
