Contorniates. Late 4th century AD. Æ Contorniate (36mm, 23.16 g, 6h). In the name of Nero. NERO CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG GERM TR P IMP P P, laureate head right; retrograde PE monogram engraved in right field / Emperor on horseback riding right, spearing fallen barbarian to right. Alföldi, Kontorniat 124 and pl. 61, 1 var. (monogram not retrograde). Brown patina, a few minor marks. Fine.
