Laureate head right / Commodus, togate, standing left, sacrificing out of patera over altar entwined by serpent and holding long scepter; being crowned by Nike, to right, advancing left, and holding palm branch; L KΘ (date) to left. Köln 2239; Dattari (Savio) 3856; K&G 41.109; RPC IV.4 Online 3535; Emmett 2540.29. Even red-brown patina with some green, a few edge splits. VF. An attractive example in-hand. |
