The mint and date on this coin are quite legible, but the die-engraver has written the decade as arbat, ‘four’, instead of arba‘in, ‘forty’. The date is not merely incorrect for al-Mustansir but would also predate the Fatimid conquest of Egypt, and it is curious that the engraver should have rendered an impossible date so carefully.
