AXUM. Alla Amidas. Late 530s-550s. Æ (20mm, 1.55 g, 12h). Crowned half-length bust enthroned right, holding cross-tipped scepter; triple pellets to right of chin / Voided Greek cross set on staff within grain ear wreath joined by annulet. Cf. Hahn, Aksumite 72b (for type); Munro-Hay type 153; BMC Axum 581: SACAM 550 var. (triple pellets behind head). Dusty green patina, edge split with associate flan crack, gilt on reverse. VF. |
