POTTERY. Magna Graecia. Gnathia. 6th-4th Cent. BCE. (65 mm tall x 120 mm wide). A Gnathian footed bowl with small, squat foot and stem holding a large, deep bowl with tall, rounded lip. A central vine design with a double border and lower row of dashes terminates at both sides with false handles painted. The back of the bowl shows a single line flanked above and below with a border of dots. An upper border of double lines is present as well. Reassembled from fragments - and well done. Minor paint restoration. |
