Laureate head of Trajan right, set on eagle standing right; club to right / Laureate large bust of Melkart-Hercules right, with lion’s skin tied around neck. McAlee 455A; RPC III 3529; Prieur 1495A (Tyre). Toned, a few light scratches, minor porosity. Good VF. Very rare with the larger bust of Melkart, only one example known to Prieur, ten in CoinArchives, and three specimens cited by the authors of RPC. |
