POTTERY. Magna Graecia. Apulia. 6th-4th Cent. BCE. (65 mm tall x 45 mm wide). A miniature oinochoe with squat foot, oval body that tapers then widens to form trefoil lip. Handle extends from lip to center of the back of the body. A simple painted design of two registers is present on the center of the body at the front of the piece. A lower bordered field of V-chevrons in a line, pointing left, rests under a bordered field of vertical lines. Paint is worn. One small chip on body. Otherwise intact and cute. |
