Laureate head right / Titus and Domitian, veiled and togate, standing front, heads slightly left, each holding a patera; ΘΥ monogram (mintmark) in exergue. RIC II.1 1420 (R3); RPC II –; RSC 249. Lightly toned, traces of deposits, reverse struck off center. Near EF. Extremely rare with this mintmark in the exergue. When Ian Carradice and Ted Buttrey produced the second fully revised edition of RIC II.1 they knew of only one example of this rarity. |
