POTTERY. Magna Graecia. 6th-4th Cent. BCE. (190 mm tall x 120 mm wide). A Gnathian Lekythos with two handles and an unusually wide flared lip. A squat round base supports an oval shaped body that slowly graduates into a short neck that abruptly flares into a wide, flap lip. A small vine work pattern is painted on in white glaze at the base of the neck. Some loss of glaze and wear present. Reassembled from fragments with some added material in places. A well done restoration. |
